HESA becomes Universities South Africa

Universities SAAs of 23 July 2015 Higher Education South Africa” (HESA) has changed its name to “Universities South Africa”. This name change is as a result of engagements and agreements by the Executive Committee and Board of Directors and is primarily aimed at establishing an identity in the public mind, which reflects the precise scope of our interests and activities, specifically for public South African Universities.

The name change does not in any way effect the legal status of HESA or demote that its operations will in future be conducted by a different legal entity. The same entity will continue to operate (the company registration number remains unchanged) and, aside from the name change and corporate identity change, its operations and structures will be retained.

What this means is that business arrangements and contractual relationship will not be affected in any way. Any contracts/agreements will remain effective and binding until its expiry or termination, as well as the terms and conditions thereof.

All correspondence, including invoices, must be addressed to the same address as previously used, but such correspondence must henceforth be directed to “Universities South Africa”. Please update any records to ensure that Universities SA receives the correct invoices as from 1 August 2015.

Should there be any matter arising from or otherwise related to the name change in respect of which you require clarification of further information, contact Mr Emert Nkhatu, Director: Finance and Administration on Tel: 012 484 1133 or Email: emert@universitiessa.ac.za
