Unveiling a New Era: R130 Million Water Infrastructure Project for the UFH Community
PURCO SA proudly announces the launch of an extraordinary R130 million water infrastructure upgrade project, marking a historic collaboration with the University of Fort Hare, the Amatole District Municipality, and the Raymond Mhlaba Municipality. This transformative initiative will ensure that the UFH community and neighboring residents have access to clean, safe, and sustainable water, revolutionizing public health and community wellbeing.
The enhancements to local water plants will significantly boost their capacity, addressing the increasing demand for potable water in the area. Minister of Higher Education, Dr Nobuhle Pamela Nkabane, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation, Mr. David Mahlobo, hailed this significant milestone, stating: “Today, we are not just unveiling infrastructure; we are unveiling hope, opportunities, and aspirations for the people of Alice, the University of Fort Hare students’ community, and future generations who will benefit from these projects.”
This landmark project represents a bold commitment to improving the quality of life for all, setting the stage for a healthier, more prosperous future.
